2000-03 Oldsmobile Alero
2000-03 Pontiac Grand Am, Sunfire

This bulletin is being revised to add a model year and to change the Correction information as well as the part number. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 01-06-04-008C (Section 06 - Engine).
Condition
Some customers may comment about inaccurate or erratic fuel gauge readings. A typical comment might be that it appears from the gauge reading that there is fuel available, yet the tank is nearly empty.
Cause
This condition may be the result of the corrosive effect of certain fuel blends on the contact surfaces of the fuel tank sender.

C = MC x FC is not a function that I've ever seen (it doesn't really make sense either). EDIT: x = +/- makes alot more sense but its already been answered now =) Although I'm still skeptical about MC being in the function and not VC (the other answer basically calculated VC) even though MC = VC can be true although it never really is.

probably around 150 bucks,,maybe less,,the part in the tank has went out on it,,and i comes with the fuel pump already made to it,,only one other thing it might be,,and that's a blown fuse,,check all fuses first,,if not its going to need a new tank unit put in it,,good luck with it,,i own repair shop,,and do this kind of work all the time.

Has Big Mike seen your car? How does he know what it's worth? Just because he possibly doesn't like Cavaliers doesn't mean others can't. What's he driving these days? A Yugo?

You need a fuel level sensor. It is approximately $100 for the repair. Best Wishes, Genie
