I think it's less disgusting than using a public toilet. Ever went to a toilet in a restaurant or someplace like that? If you did, you might as well let another person take a sip of your drink.

I wouldn't recomend it, and if you aren't prepared for what might happen next don't do it, but I have been known to dump my drink or throw it...it's because of the situations I live in I react that way...I won't drink after anyone either, I'm afraid I'd get somehthing0_o

If I don't know them, I'd say, "I don't think so." If it's a close friend or relative, if I feel like sharing, I wouldn't mind. Usually, unless someone has a contagious disease that could be transfered orally (say a cold or flu, or worse herpes!), you'll be fine sharing with someone you know.

If I am in the company of those I know, I would let them but start by jokingly asking if they have any known types of lip fungus.

take a big gulp....gargle with it...spit it back into the glass...then offer it to them

if they drink anyway...throw the rest away...at least you had a good laugh at their expense....and can retell the story for a long time to humiliate the person....
or
then tell them to get/buy their own liquid libation

I usually handle it by giving them the drink altogether and getting a new one of my own, or buying them their own. I was raised to be very hospitable.

First you take your last sip, leaving the recipient almost empty, then you say: Here, finish it!

Anything from "no" to offering to pour some out into another cup or glass.
