I agree with all the above picks, however, I also think it won't be surprising if the Avs don't make it this year. They have too many losses and haven't really replaced those guys like Tanguay and Blake. Jose Theodore is a joke. And even Dan Hinote, a fourth liner, DID contribute to the heart of the team. Joe Sakic, future hall of famer, but even Super Joe can't carry this team on his back anymore. I may be wrong, but I won't be surprised if they miss it this year. And before any of you Avs fans bust on me, I am an Avs fan. Its just the salary cap really hurt them bad.

Definitely not making the playoffs?
In the East I'd say...
New York Islanders and the Washington Capitals will definitely not make the playoffs.
Outside shot at the playoffs...
Toronoto Maple Leafs, Atlanta Thrashers, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Boston Bruins, Pittsburgh Penguins
Should make the playoffs...
Ottawa Senators, Buffalo Sabres, New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers, Carolina Hurricanes
I dont' know where to place Philadelphia and Montreal. They go somewhere between outside shot and should make.
In the West...
St. Louis Blues, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Phoneix Coyotes will definitely not make the playoffs.
Possible playoff berths...
Vancouver Canucks, Chicago Blackhawks (yes, I said that), LA Kings, Minnesota Wild, Edmonton Oilers, Colorado Avalanche,
Should make the playoffs...
Detroit Red Wings, Dallas Stars, Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, Calgary Flames, Nashville Predators
That's my two cents anyway.

Add to your list St. Louis, Boston, Phoenix and the Rangers. Probably the Kings. Probably the Isles too. Minnesota could surprise people this year so I'm not counting them out. Atlanta and Tampa Bay will fight each other for a spot in the East. Probably the #8 spot, meaning one of them will make it and one'll have an early tee time but it's too soon to tell which will be which.

Jose Theodore can be great he just had personal, and family problems back home in Montreal thats why the trade happend.
and if the problems are out of his head then he will be great once again. he didnt win the MVP award for nothing.
