The Jeffersons, Different Strokes, this wasn't really a sitcom but I loved Rocko's Modern Life.Three's Company was funny when it originally aired.

Depending on what decade you are talking about. In the 50's, there was "I Love Lucy", "The Honeymooners", "The Andy Griffith Show".
The 60's.....There was "Laugh In"
In the 70's. there was "Mary Tyler Moore Show", "Soap", "All in the Family"
In the 80's, "Newhart", "The Cosby Show"
In the 90's, there was "Mad About You and Seinfield"
There are some you agree with and some you may not. But, to me, there are a lot more and these are the ones I picked.

Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, and Friends all won Emmys and i think most will agree that they are amongst the funniest shows on television, both now as re-runs, and at the time of their original airing. Not to mention that Friends has it's own "Scene-It" trivia game.

Friends
The Drew Carey Show
Seinfeld
Everybody Loves Raymond
Hope & Faith isn't bad for a current one
And by the way, Whose Line Is It Anyway? is not a sitcom by any means. It is a comedy/improv show

i've sort of gotten to love "the jeffersons" recently; it's hilarious! "i love lucy" was also a great show. "seinfeld" is also a classic because it's so different from almost every other show ever made since it's about "nothing. as for shows that are still on now, I love "scrubs" and "the office"
