I'm thrilled to see this type of question come up in this section!
I'm an amateur DJ, and house, trance, and other club music is where I live.
I believe the gold standard on trance, even after nearly a decade, is still Paul Oakenfold's "Tranceport." But I also have really enjoyed Hybrid's "Y4K" and DJ Micro's "My Frequency 001" and "Music Through Me."
As for house/dance, I'm partial to the sun-drenched sound of deep, soulful house, and I have a couple discs that are never far from my CD player. "Nude Dimensions Volume 1," from Naked Music, is a classic. Miguel Migs' "Nude Tempo" is his take on Naked Music recordings. The debut album by Blue Six, "A Beautiful Tomorrow," is also very good.
If you'd like some more recommendations, or you just want to talk music, send me an email!
