Why does Bush speeak of an 'Iraq' Islamic caliphate goal of Al Qaida?

The goal of Al Qaida is a fundamentalist Islamic caliphate for the whole middle east - why does Bush makes it seem like an Iraq problem?

From the beginning the Bush Administration has deliberately confused, misdirected, and deceived people about the purpose of the Iraq War. Iraq was a secular Baathist regime that in no way helped the advancement of the religious objectives of Muslim extremists. They tied Iraq into 9/11 and the War on Terror deliberately to con people into supporting a war that has nothing to do with either. Enough of the American people are stupid, so they succeeded in fooling them.
