there is no DNA in cut ( not plucked )hair.
and there is no DNA in nails.
both are proteins,
so in a hi-tech lab they can use mass-spectrometry to figure out your proteins,or like the other guy said,the drugs u may have been using.

From the DNA they could find out if your sample matches any of those from crime scenes. They can determine sex and whether or not you have the alleles for many genetic defects/illnesses. They can determine the area of the world your ancestors are from. They are able to tell more and more all the time. Pretty cool, eh?

Bloodhounds are much better at finding people, but I guess if you took the hair and nail clippings and tied them to a duck. A lab could retrive you then.

Aside from the usual stuff regarding DNA. As far as the hair goes, they could tell if you've ever used certain kinds of drugs/narcotics. This procedure is how it is known that Edgar Allen Poe used Opium and Laudnum for his "inspirations".

They could find out if you were male or female, and they'd have a blueprint of your genetic makeup, which they could then match to another sample.
Why? did you kill someone and then cut your hair and nails at the scene, if so, that wasn't very smart. Don't you watch CSI? :)

DNA, age, sex, gender, drugs, lifestyle
Nails:
Food that you have eaten, bits of skin from scratching, possible blood (and that opens a whole new can of worms), places you have been (dirt), your mental habits (neat and clean or ragged)...
Pretty much anything if they are determined enough.
