Communication...people sharing information or ideas with each other...the process goes back and forth (not one person speaking and one just listening)...and understanding is key...it's not someone talking AT another but whatever is being imparted is understood.

Communication is indeed, as you've said, the exchange and flow of information, but even more than just that: It is the exchange and flow of that information that is absorbed and responded to.
