I haven't used either of those, I just used the store brand. But, the pregnancy hormone is more concentrated in the morning. So, did she do one in the morning and the other later in the day? Also, if she drank a lot of water and she was just early on, she could have diluted her urine and could have gotten a false negative reading. I haven't heard of a false positive though. I'd suggest going to the OB/Gyn if she has insurance and it isn't going to cost too much. Or waiting a few days and taking one again. I always used the cheaper store brand ones and always had accurate results.

She is definitely pregnant, there is no such a thing as a false positive. Pregnancy tests detect a hormone called hcg, which is only produced if the woman is pregnant. However there is false negatives, if you test too early into the pregnancy the hormone might not be high enough to be detected, BUT believe me when it is detected the + sign will be there. She is definitely pregnant, tell her to say good bye to AF for a while!!

Your friend is pregnant
Go to http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/hpt.html to check out the sensitivity level on those brands.
If she took the First Response Early Result it has a sensitivity level of 15-25 mIU
Fact Plus Select is 40 mlU and Fact Plus is 20mlU.
It is possible that one brand picked it up sooner.
Tell your friend to retest with the same brand that came up positive tomorrow in the early morning when she wakes.

fact plus is a digital test so it needs a certain amount to hormone to set the indicator off...the first response can detect even the slightes amount . i did a FR test 10 day after i ovulate and the faintest line came up..so faint i didnt believe it until i took another test 2 weeks later and it was darker...best way to tell is by blood test that way they can detect the amount of hormone in your body (HCG level). good luck

I have used the tests and they were both right. I really like the fact plus tests; that is how I knew I was expecting my daughter.
