What do you mean, bullish on small arms manufacturers?
If you think guns cause war, you have your head in the sand. Guns can be a tool of good or evil, but they are just tools.
For most of the history of mankind, 95% of the people lived under the daily, brutal rule of their masters. There were a few exceptions, but very few and far between.
The freedoms you, and a good deal of the world for that matter, enjoy today are yours because some man decided to pick up a gun and fight for his freedom and for your freedom. The world is just not a safe place unless access to the tools of war are available to responsible citizens. For when they are not, that's when the masters in charge can do whatever they want.
Need examples?
Stalin's USSR. 25 Million people dead. No one fought back because they had no arms.
China. Millions dead or imprisoned for opposing the Communist government. Do you think the communist in power would last for one day, if every able bodied man in china had a rifle?
Cuba. After helping him into power, the first thing the dictator Castro did was to disarm his people. The second was to open prisons for anyone that disagreed with him.
Governments, and the men who seek political power, are too corruptable by power to be trusted with it, especially if they are the only ones that are armed.
Also, there is no mystery in making a firearm. A good machinist can make you a gun out of scrap automobile parts with a few of the right tools.
The largest firearms manufacturers in the world are Russian and Chinese. Are you going to put western arms manufacturers out of business? The void will be filled in by the Commies real fast. They need the cash.

No, simply because most of the small arms being used are coming out of state owned factories in third world countries. Why pay $500 for an exported M16 when you can get a state built AK for $125? Right now the ammunition industry is a better bet. Ammo is made on high speed production equipment where there is benefit to larger more technical equipment. Also note that domestic ammo will sell more and at a premium as foreign surplus ammo runs out. There is about a 100% premium on ammunition compared to a year ago and I do not see this coming down soon.
Note that alot of the rising cost in ammo is directly due to the increased material cost of brass, copper and steel. Copper is now $2.35 a pound where is was $0.75 two years ago. Many of the increase were eaten by the manufacturers, but the slack is fully taken up now. Look for revenues to follow material commodities prices ALOT closer now.

And then what Paris, get bullish with stone manufacturers and stick manufacturers? It is not ever due to the weapon of choice...it is the mind guiding the hand that wields it.
Added note: well spoken DJ, you have my thumbs up!

Markets flooded with AK's. They are laying all over the place. If I wanted to invest in arms. I'd look at anti-missle weapons and guided weapons. Thats were the bucks are.

Not necessary ... just take away the ammo.
I know that sounds cliche but it's true. Guns don't kill people, bullets do.
I don't think that will solve the regional conflicts unfortunately. I believe we have to change the way people think in order to change what they do. Educate not annihilate.

That's not really going to solve the problem. We should be getting harder on religion.
