Try baking soda
but the best thing is the "flushing liter box" it is not the littermaid...this one actually breaks down the waste and disposes of it either in your toilet or down the same drain youhave your washer hooked up to. It has worked wonders for me...all you do is walk by and push a button, the box does the rest. It is a little costly at first but you only replace the litter every 3 or 4 months and the solution every one or two months...depending on how much you use it. Both the solution and the liter are cheap...like 15 to 20 bucks....it pays for itself after a while and there will be no more smell... It's great!

try using some baking soda in the litter. this naturally defuses odor. it's not meant just for the fridge any more. also you can my arm-n-hammer litter these day's that might help you out. and if the smell is still bad try getting some natures miracle from pet smart or pet co and clean the area around the box and even the hole box with this stuff. IT definitely works 'miracles'.. I hope this helps. and good luck.

Arm & Hammer makes a baking soda deoderizer especially for litter boxes. You just mix it in with the litter. I think regular baking soda would do basically the same but this kind is scented. It helped me when I had a kitty. Also they make carpet foam expecially to hide pet smells & that helps.

I have one very clean dog that uses the outdoors for his business. The dog doesn’t smell, but if you let the hair build up in the house will start to. You have to clean all of the floors every week and use some form of carpet fresh. Unscented candles are also nice. I just keep those $1.00 ones at the grocery stores, the tall glass kind with the religious icons on them; I just get the plain colored ones though.
There's nothing worse then that slight smell of animal in someones house.

I love Oust. I have the Oust fan next to the litter box and I use the spray as well. It really neutralizes the odors, it's the only product I've found that works.
