For me, it was a trip to the Cascades where I got to hike to the top and INSIDE Mt. St. Helens. It was amazing to see lots of strange springs and shear cliffs in material my age. Death Valley, Italy, and Glacier NP were also great. Anyone else been on great trips? What did you see?

Normandy, France. Nice fossiliferous limestones. Good weather, superb beaches obviously where the best outcrops were. Some nice granite plutons. Lovely weather, great wine, beer and Calvados and a bunch of good mates. Shame about the locals though ; )

My best geo trip was in January when we went Havasu Falls at the Grand Canyon. Also hit Death Valley, Petrified Forrest National Park, and Los Vegas on the way home.

My dad used to take me rock hunting when I was a kid - the most amazing geology I've seen is Bryce Canyon. It was like a very strange place not on this earth.
