I grew up in Idaho Falls. There is a lot to do here. It really depends on what you like to do. I.F. is centered between Craters of the Moon National Monument, Yellowstone National Park, Teton National Park, Island Park, and tons of skiing (downhill and water). If you like the outdoors, check out www.backcountrysecrets.com. There are a few things listed on this site in the Idaho Falls area. Just go to the search page.
Things to do in the city include: walking around the greenbelt, shopping in downtown I.F., the Bonneville Museum, the Idaho Falls Temple Visitors Center, there are mini go carts near the mall/theaters and also near Fred Meyers on the other side of town.

Oh yeah, I've been there quite a few times. Been past there even more but it's all been a long time ago. When I went there it was for specific reasons. I've never just hung out there so I can't really tell you what there is to do.
