I've recently switched to Mac and I can honestly say, I'm in love. There's just no question any more... Mac is the way to go. There isn't one thing that you can't do on a Macintosh, thanks to Apple's BootCamp software. Now that Macs can run Windows, you will find that you can have the best of both worlds. Even though you CAN run Windows, you'll find yourself spending more time using Mac OS X. A new Mac will come with everything you need to organize your music and photos. You can edit digital videos and make beautiful DVD movies. Best of all, it's so easy. It's all drag and drop. You'll be amazed at the things a Mac can do right out of the box. Don't be intimidated by the fear of trying something new. You'll love Mac, too. It's a wonderful time to switch. Before Windows Vista ships, there will be a new version of Mac OS X. It's called Leopard. Leopard is set to blow Vista right out of the water. I've seen the previews, and it looks amazing. There's tons of new features to get excited about. I could spend all day going over all of the reasons why you should own a Mac. Just spend some time browsing the Apple website and you'll find out all kinds of fascinating things about Mac.

Macs are generally more expensive because of their unique design and the simple face that Macs tend to have superior hardware. But, in the long run, you'll spend less money on a Macintosh, as you won't require upgrades as often as a PC. That, and Macs come with most of the software you'll ever need. Not much to buy in the way of software, unless you want to get into the Pro apps.

I've used PCs for years, and I've never been able to say "I love my PC." But, I can tell you that I love my Macintosh. I'll never buy another PC again.

Well I would go for a PC. But Mac OSX is better then XP Pro in my opinion. But Vista WILL be the best operating system in the world when it is released.

In the past, Macs were the superior machines. Even now, they are virtually immune to viruses, and have always been ahead of the game with their OS and graphic capabilities/programs...however, PCs have come a long way over the years and now it just about comes down to simpy user preference.

People who learned on a Mac will tend to prefer them, and the same with a PC...although PCs are still more prone to viruses and such, because most of those programs are written to affect a PC and have no effect on a Mac.

If you don't know how to use a computer, then get a Mac, since they're idiot-friendly. Unfortunately, they're ridiculously expensive and you can't do everything with a Mac.

If you have a reasonable level of skill, then PC is the best choice. You just have to get a few free programs to protect it from viruses and malware.

I prefer PC because:
1. It has more games available than MAC
2. More software are developed for PC
3. Easier to customize
4. Cheaper to build

I have been using Windows, since 95. When programming, I prefer to be under the Windows Environment.

Don't get me wrong, I do like MACs for their looks and feel. If I was into graphic designs, then my preference may be a MAC.

macs used to be better ~ faster chips , better OS and all but pc's have caught up and with the grwowing resurgence of the mac more bugs, exploits and viruses are being found for them

the problem used to be no one used em so nothing was available but that has changed too with m$ office for mac etc

they are still the best machines for video editing and graphic work though

Better for what or better at what? It's all a matter of opinion. Mac lovers like mac, pc lovers love PC's.

Mac is commonly refered to as the more advanced operating system. If you have never used it before it is really easy to get used to it. They do tend to cost a bit more, but I think it's definitely worth it. One of the other issues was compatibility. That's now solved, as macs with Intell cores (all new macs) can run window.
