Usually your biggest problem is corrosion or battery issues. If you can see discoloration or rust on the battery contacts, you're probaly out of luck, but at least dry your phone out as quick as possible with the battery removed. This means leaving it in a dry place for 2-3 days because there isn't much air circulation in the hard to reach nooks and crannies of your phone. After that, plug it in and pray. That's about all you can do. And I would avoid trying to return it as defective. There are usually little white round stickers on the inside that change color when they get wet. They put those there to prevent fraud.

Take the battery off and leave it for 48 hours....you can't make it dry faster.
Then try to turn it on after those two days. If you didn't cause that much damage to the insides, the phone should work like nothing happened.
Ive dropped a few phones in the rain...and once in the toilet and it still works just fine.

Probably not. But if it got just a little wet, you can take it apart. Unscrew the case/cover. Then put the phone in a warm oven for a few minutes to dry out.

You should have bad sure there was no moisture left inside of it before you turned it on. It is really best to take it back to where you got it and have them dry it and turn it on. The micro electronics inside does not like to get wet.

DO NOT DRY IT QUICKLY OVER HEAT.

Take the phone to bits and let it sit for a few days. Good chance it will spring back to life...mine did.
