Your period can be late, even if you're regular like clockwork. The menstrual cycle is hormonal based and there are things like stress, moving, trauma, illness which can affect the hormonal cycle of your body. The common misconception among many woman, and unfortunately many doctors is that every woman's cycle is exactly 28 days and you will ovulate on day 14. This is just not the case. Normal is any cycle between 22-40 days. You will have your period about 13-16 days after you ovulate.

The "little period" you mentioned was most likely due to ovulation bleeding. Every month when you ovulate the egg actually ruptures from the ovary, and there can be bleeding. The pain, nausea and other things you are feeling are most likely "mittleschmertz" or middle pain, which is also associated with ovulation. Again, its your body's normal response to the hormonal and physical changes taking place, and you can have these symptoms one month and not the next.

You can learn how to chart and track your cycles as well. The book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" is an excellent resource on women's health! I recommend you read it, and you'll find that what you're going thru is very normal.

Go see your gyno if you are worried it. You might have a hormonal imbalance - which is common in a lot of women such as myself. I got those symptoms alot but the only way for you to know is to go see a doctor. And try not to be scared or think the worst. It might be nothing.

Go to the hospital immediately! You may be experiencing a miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy, which could require surgical intervention. If you have to, call 911!
