local delicacy(in scotland they have deep-fried mars bars,yuk!)

I have lived my whole 31 years in Scotland and have never seen or tasted a fried mars bar (although every one seems to go on about them!). But as a Scots lass I would have to say that haggis is the most disgusting (traditionally made inside a sheep's stomach bag). But it is still delicious and easier to source than a deep fried mars bar.
Oh...and KFC (YUK!!!!)

I think the most disgusting delicacy Ive heard of is from Scandinavian or Northern Atalantic Countrues (eg Iceland, Faroes etc)
it was rotted shark
first catch your shark
leave it to rot for 2..3 months
then enjoy

In Yorkshire one of the things a lot of people thing is disgusting is tripe, but I like it, the honeycomb type with lots of vinegar and salt on, yummy and boiled black pudding with mushy peas and ham.

my cousin who lives in Scotland once had a deep fried pizza. now that's disgusting.

pre cooked chickens and ribs from are local co-op they have trained the staff so well on how to burn and over cook. they have even trained them to keep it in the hot cupboard for hours just to insure that it is completely tasteless well done the coop.

the locals used to stick half a dead cow in when they were making scrumpy round these parts. apparently the bacteria is good for the fermentation process.

I'm from Yorkshire and I love Tripe, pig bag, hearts, sweetbreads, herring roe. And yes I know where they come from. Any body beat that if you can.
