Most Italian meat dishes will be made with veal (rather than beef steak). Here are some good (and fairly typical) dishes found at Italian restaurants: Veal Parmigiana, Veal Cacciatore or Scallopine w/ Bolognese (meat) sauce. These are each with a red sauce.

There is also osso buco (lamb or veal shank).

FYI - alfredo is a white sauce.

The first one to come to mind would be fettuccine Alfredo. Another would be Vegetable Lasagna or any dish with seafood. I recommend Lacanda del Lago, a restaurant located in Santa Monica,CA. They specialize in northern Italian food.
