How could we know? As long as you actually ever married, you ARE married, unless you got divorced, or your wife died.

First of all you need to have filed for a divorce and if you did you need to contact your lawyer to see if it's been finalize. Please do some checking before you remarrying or marry another. If you didn't file a divorce then there is a good chance you are still marry. Do your investigation and do it now.

How do you not know? Did you go to divorce court? Did you sign divorce papers? You need to get in touch with the courthouse in the county that you were married in to find out.

How does one not know if they are married or not? It's not like you can't remember if you paid the cable bill. Did you get a divorce??? I would think even the biggest idiot would know if they got a divorce or not seeing as how you have to sign papers and cr*p.

Check with the court registry where you were divorced, let a lawyer do it for you and get an official attestation that you're divorced.
