I have not really looked at it from this point of view. I would agree on your points. As two gay men love, they can not marry having bonds of a piece of paper. Since we can not have children it means we must hold our relationships together without that bond as well.
While many gay men strive for equality and do committment ceremoies it is still a minority. It is also the same for adpotion and bearing children. Both of these are strong reasons for couples to stay together and they often do. I think this is a noble thought. However, I would not want to place any love above any one elses love. Love is the highest on all plains.

The "need to breed" probably doesn't really exist...usually this is called an Accident. Male to male love can often be extremely intense, more so than found in the straight world...and this facet has been used to great benefit throughout history. Army units of gays are very fierce...they protect their lovers and wipe out armies of far greater strength. Alexander made very good use of that, so did Napolean. Too bad the US Army doesn't get the idea...Iraq would be in the past.
As for purity, I am not sure that is the right word. Perhaps a intense love devoid of sex is pure....sounds rather boring, but perhaps is pure. You pose theoretical questions that really cannot be answered. Good luck

I'm not sure I can answer your question, because I disagree with your premise that gay love is free of the need to breed. The desire to be a parent isn't tied to one's sexual preference.
My partner and I were together 4 years and then adopted a child together, because we both have a desire to be parents. The US Census estimates that about 250,000 kids under the age of 18 are living in gay households, so clearly we aren't alone in this feeling.
And while I absolutely agree with another answerer here and say that there is no such thing as an accidental gay parent, I will stop short of saying anything like gay people love their kids more than straight people, etc. Unhappy gay couples stay together "for the good of the children" just like unhappy straight couples do.
So I guess in answer to your question, there are good and bad relationships in every sexual orientation category. No one form of love is inherently better. Love is love.

Interesting thought,in light of the over crowded world we live in.
Also nothing is really pure.
However I've often thought along similar lines considering the divorce rate, etc that perhaps two married couples bound together in as pure as possible love, seperate within their own marriages, yet one in love.
One older thus wise/established,the other younger with adventure/excitement/beauty.
Thus all of nature, and as well the sensual together.

I'm not sure I totally agree with you. maybe the level of commitment is different than straight couples. but, as far as the need to breed, many gay/lesbian couples DO want and DO have children! my partner and I don't....we only have 4-legged children. but we have quite a few friends who do...and are currently planning to have more.
and, as I expect, there are the "haters" who came here and posted their usual nasty remarks..... but, damn! real truth....suggesting we be shot! It's one thing to dislike people who are different...but a whole new level of ignorant bigotry to suggest that kind of violence! you're sick!

I wouldn't say it is "higher" or anything of the sort, I will say that when relationships are formed and lives together are started it is because they want to be together, not because one is pregnant and it's "The right thing to do" or societal pressure of "when are you going to get married".

I don't think so and I am a lesbian. I don't think breeding has anything to do with it.
