My 3yr old daughter is thin. I have to use a belt with all of her jeans. Children's clothes seem to be made for larger children. Anyone else run into this problem, and if so what clothing line caters to thinner children? I see plus size for children but is there a petite? She wears a 3T.

yozombiesmama: Being a mother has nothing to do with my question. I am asking if anyone knows of a clothes line that does not require alterations.

Sears as well as Montgomery Wards sells slim sizes. Also I believe Walmart does as well.

My son is 3 yrs old and has an 18 inch waist and long legs and arms. I look for jeans and pants that have the elastic in the band and on the inside of the band there is button and you can stretch the elastic out and there are slits to put the buttons through to make the pants tighter with out bulging like they do with a belt. Kohls, walmart, Old Navy ,and ToysRus have them. That is the only thing I know. If I cant find them my mom takes up in the waist.

I have a little problem in this area too. You have to try on lots, & I mean lots, of jeans to find the right brand/fit for your body. If you wear jeans that are too low-rise the muffin's top will be a lot bigger. I wear a higher rise and this helps so much. Wearing skin tight shirts doesn't help either. In the end though, you need to just kinda accept yourself. You've had a baby! Not everyone is lucky enough to get into a bikini again! Love yourself for who you are & go get yourself a nice pair of jeans! I'm also betting you don't look as bad as you think!

I have a small daughter too. Just buy smaller clothes, OR you can take the waistlines and fold them out once or twice to make them cinch better.

Try the Children's Place. They are a little pricey but they have great clothes.

I have the same problem. My daughter is tall and thin. They make bigger clothes because our kids are obese in these states.

Seriously, you're a mother. Learn how to hem clothing, or take it to a tailor. My daughter is short, but 'normal' size...so I always have to tailor her pants.
