#1: -4c-12=15
first combine like terms and move to the right to make -4c positive
0=27+4c
then you want to move the 27 over
-27=4c
then divide both sides by 4
c= -27/4
#2 x/5 = 11/35
use cross multiplication to get rid of the fractions (its hard to explain while typing) multiply the x by 35 and then multiply the 11 by 5:
35x = 55
then divide each side by 35
x = 11/7
#3. do the same thing as #2
#4. x-3/10 = 2x+5/5
first, combile like terms and move the x to one side and the numbers to the other
-3/10-5/5 = x
Solve for the fraction 5/5 is the same as 10/10
-3/10 - 10/10 = x
-13/10 = x
#5 x-2/x = 3/8
im going to assume that you mean (x-2)/x = 3/8 since the other way seems like the problem will be too complex for this math.
(x-2)/x = 3/8
first cross multiply to get 8(x-2) = 3x
then distribute the 8
8x-16 = 3x
then move the 3x over to one side that the 16 to the other
5x = 16
divide both sides by 5
x = 16/5

(i) - 4c - 12 = 15
-4c = 15 +12
-4c = 27
c = - 27/4
(ii) x/5 = 11/35
x = 5 (11/35)
x= 11/7
(iii) 13/49 = 26/7x
(13 x 7x) = (49 x 26) >> Solve
4) x-3/10 = 2x +5/5
5(x-3) = 10 (2x + 5)
5x - 15 = 20x + 50
20x + 50 = 5x - 15
20x - 5x = -50-15
15x = -65
x = -65/15 = -13/3
5) x - 2/x = 3/8
8(x-2) = 3x
8x - 16 = 3x
8x - 3x = 16
5x = 16
x = 16/5
Its really important to remember the tiny details of changing the positive and minus signs as appropriates. I just got back from college to exhausted to explain the intricacies of the sign changing but that is the simplest bit but unfortunately where people go wrong (as I have probably done given im tired), but look up those rules. People often get the right answer and have it marked wrong because they don't get positive and negative.

1) -4c - 12 = 15
first keep the variable on one side, and #'s on the other. add 12 to both sides...
-4c = 15 + 12
now divide both sides by -4
c = 27/-4 = -6 1/4
2) x/5 = 11/35
you can use ratios for this one, which is cross multiply:
35x = 55
x = 55/35
3) again, ratios:
13/49 = 26/7x
91x = 1274
x = 14
4) x - 3/10 = 2x + 5/5
leave variable on left, #'s on right:
x - 2x = 3/10 + 1
-x = 13/10
x = -13/10
5) x - 2/x = 3/8
this one is tricky. ur gonna have to multiply EVERYTHING by x to get rid of the denominator:
x^2 - 2 = 3/8(x)
x^2 - 3/8(x) = 2
x(x-3/8) = 2
hmm... i forget how to do the rest. i hope u can figure this one out! :)

1. -4c-12=15
=>-4c=27 so c=-27/4
2. x/5 = 11/35
so x=(11/35)*5=11/7
3. 13/49 = 26/7x
x=(13/49)(7/26)=1/14
4. x-3/10 = 2x+5/5
5x-15=20x+50
=>-15x=65 so x=-65/15=13/3
5. x-2/x = 3/8
8x-16=3 so 8x=19 aand x=19/8

1) -4c-12=15
- In order to find C, you will need C on the left and all other variables on the right
- Add 12 to both Sides:
-4C-12+12=15+12 the 12's on the left cancel eachother out
-4C=27
- Divide by -4
-4C/-4 = 27/-4
C = -27/4
Have fun with the rest!

this is basic Algebra
1.you are trying to find c: 2. x/5=11/35
-4c-12=15 x=5*11/35
-4c=15+12
-4c=27 X=1,57
c=27/-4
c=-6,75

1. solve for the given letter for example in question one... -4c-12=15, you might want to move the -12 to be +12 to the right side: -4c=27 and then divide -4 by 27 and you get c= (-4/27).. you do the same for all 5 questions.. =)
