Crazy idea. Challenge guys. I thought to compress my DVD films before copying them on a CD +RW (let's say two or three films) and copy them on one single DVD+RW cd and!!!! being able to play then on my simple DVD player (that cannot play DIVx files!) Do you think it's possible to do that? How?

How about music files? :)

i really dont think it is possible with the dvd files. you would be better off getting a dvd burner. you can get lots of music files on a cd.

Not sure you are asking the question as you intend to, but here's a program that will shrink a pressed DVD to fit on a DVD+-RW:

You may first need to create an image with:

There is no software that would burn a DVD to a CD+RW to play in a simple DVD player.

i only know of software to compress a DVD from 8gB to 4gB(estimated sizes). Anymore and the quality would be terrible. What I have done is convert the movies to mpeg files making them about 900MB in size. Then I could burn 4 onto one DVD as mpeg files. This will only play in a DVD player that can play mpeg files and loses quite a bit of quality. I did it to play on a portable dvd player that can play mpegs and the picture is pretty good.
