One of the history teachers at my school were having a bet with us that there has been a black president in the United States. We made the bet that he's wrong, yet he said that this "president" wasn't an OFFICIAL one. Upon further interrogation, he said "think the president of the Confederate States of America". We said: "Davis?", and the teacher replied "Yes, Davis was the only black president in U.S.A., if you count the C.S.A. "

BUT I THOUGHT DAVIS WAS A WHITE MAN!!?? Well, wasn't he?? Is there any special reference to Davis as a "black" president?

Jefferson Davis was never President of the United States, nor is he black.

Davis was President of the Confederacy during the Civil War, and he was white. Your teacher is on some serious drugs or something.

(I suggest doing a Yahoo image search on Jefferson Davis. Print the result and give your teacher the education he so sorely lacks)

Jefferson Davis is most assuredly white - any teacher stating otherwise has no concept of the South or it's history and really should not be teaching at all!

Why in the world would the succeeding South appoint a black man as their President? They owned slaves!

Jefferson Davis was without a doubt white. Why would the CSA, a nation bent on preserving slavery, elect a black president? Also, if he were black he wouldn't be a citizen and thus ineligible to run. Clearly, your teacher took a dive in the gene pool.

Your teacher is on acid....they've got pictures of him on Wikipedia, and the man is as white as milk.

Plus, does he REALLY think that the Confederate States would have continued to allow slavery if it had been run by a black man?

Proof positive that most people who go into teaching graduated at the bottom 10% of their class....

He WAS white and was NOT a US citizen. Look in any history book for a picture. With all due respect, I don't know where your teacher gets his information.

If he was nobody would be surprised. Lots of blacks who "passed" for white were the most black hating people of all . For instance now look at Bob Barr in Georgia.

What's your teacher smoke? He's seriously impaired.
