Frequent masturbation and ejaculation (usually more than 4 times a week for most) stimulate acetylcholine/parasympathetic nervous functions excessively, resulting in the over production of sex hormones and neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine, dopamine and serotonin. Abundant and unusually amount of these hormones and neurotransmitters can cause the brain and adrenal glands to perform excessive dopamine-norepinephrine-epinephrine conversion and turn the brain and body functions to be extremely sympathetic. In other words, there is a big change of body chemistry when one excessively pratices masturbation.
Note: Masturbation is a healthy sexual behavior. Like other behaviors, when over practiced or addicted it can lead to both psychological and physiological imbalances.
The side effects of such changes to the body include:

Stress / Anxiety
Thinning hair / Hair Loss
Soft / Weak Erection
Premature Ejaculation
Eye floaters or fuzzy vision
Groin / Testicular Pain
Pain or cramp in the pelvic cavity or/and tail bone
If above symptoms are experienced, you need to restore the balance of brain's acetylcholine / parasympathetic ratio, reduces the level of sex hormones in the body, and sedates sympathetic nervous function, or the symptoms would become worse.

Frequent masturbation is only an a problem if it is getting in the way of your quality of life or your other daily activities. Of course if you are doing it to the point of shooting dust instead of semen, you may want to back off a little (JK).
Actually there are a lot of benefits to frequent masturbation and ejaculation.
1) Research has shown that frequent masturbation may protect against cancer of the prostate. The more a man ejaculates between the ages of 20 and 50, the less likely he was to develop cancer of the prostate.
2) It can help with people that have insomnia, helping their bodies to relax after wards
3) It can help to stimulate the immune system to help build up resistance to common infections.
4) It can help with depression by the release mood elevating hormones.
So - masturbation is not only fun - it turns out that it is also good for you =o)
