I have recently finished the first volume of the manga series "Loveless" and it may be a while before I can read volume 2. In the mean time I would just like to have a point of curiosity satisfied.
In the "Loveless" world it seems that people are born with cat ears and tails. When Ritsuka sees Soubi he notes that he has 'lost' his ears and tail and is therefore a grown-up. In another scene a girl protests that if she 'loses' her ears at her age her mom will kill her.
I originally thought that the people lost their ears and tails at a certain age, but the girl's comment makes me think maybe it happens when one loses their virginity instead...?
I'm just curious. If I'm right I guess teen sex isn't much of a problem at all in their world...

You are absolutely right---they lose their ears & tail when they lose their virginity. You'll notice that one of the teachers still has her ears & tail !

Yes, I've read the first two volumes of Loveless, and the cat ears are lost when their virginity is lost. My anime/manga-obessed friend told me about it. =P
