like 13 year olds who don't have a job, her bf left her, she has to drop out of school, can't get an education, have to work at a crappy job to feed her kid, etc..... the list goes on and on.

Yes. I feel sorry for them because they are so young that they do not fully understand the consequences of their actions......I know they have to grow up very fast and have to deal with things that are hard on even an adult

Yes I feel sorry for them, but somehow the education is not getting to them, or they plain don't care, its like prison, their lives are ruined and they will never be the same, because they lost out on some of the best times of their lives
It would be interesting to know what percentage of teens become pregnant.
When I was in high school, many years ago, I was 15 when they decided to teach sex education, and that was from a biological view, so to some it was a little boring, we had teachers who were
too embarrassed to answer our personal questions, we were really naive, now the pendulum seems to have swung the other way, but I am wandering shouldn't there be more sex education for guys.????

No i don't, i feel sorry for the baby... That's just ridiculous at that age they know what there doing and what could happen and i feel that they should be made to drop out of school and get a job to support and take care of there baby too..(not meaning to offend) that's just how i feel about it because most of the time they do it to be cool and they don't realize what it takes to raise a child maybe if they did there would be less sex and more studying..

yes and no. Yes because life as they know it is going to change drastically all over 1 minute of fun. No because in this day and time the information is out there as well as the example that is set by other pregnant teens which one would have hoped would have been a real wake up call for other teens..Unfortunately it seems the hormones are winning out over the brains more often than not.

As recent as the last century, there was a long pattern. Marry then mate. If you marry first, then you automatically know who will be responsible for raising the children of that marriage's mating. The marriage requirement was for the teenager's (both the boy and the girl) protection.

My grandmother married at 14 and life was good despite producing three children in the next five years--until a train ran over her young husband. It isn't the pregnant teens, it is the unmarried teens that copulate without provision for their product--that and those mentally-deficient that think in doing what makes girls pregnant won't make girls pregnant.

I would wonder where this 13 yr olds Mother was when this kid got pregnant, and yes I feel bad for them they don't have a clue. But their education can go on as most of the schools have an alternative education now with a daycare in them.

I am not sure if feeling sorry and having compassion or empathy are totally the same, but it is hard not to feel somthing for these unfortunate ones... No matter how much they should know, they are still kids and need our guidence and protection... I feel sorry that they were or are lacking this guidence and teaching.. Now that they have became or gotten pregnant they need alot more than being felt sorry for... This is not the end for them it is a new begining which is in need of direct oversight and adult and mature guidence... God Bless them..

I hope any teen in the situation like you just named would put there child up for adoption and not make the baby suffer.

Sux to be them.......!

However, the real issue is the young men in this country....Why is it not OK to teach and/or beat into a young man to keep his crank in his pants......
I remember using the emotions of the young lady (i eventually married) against her, by playing to them and feeding into her needs to be wanted and affirmed..... This is the behavior that brings on these early pregnancies......Along with the normal raging bull hormones of young men......

There is a solution......boys and girls should be educated separately after the age of 8 or 9 yrs. Sounds Victorian I agree..
BUT, the advantage would be we could re-instill a lost respect for Woman, and for the seriousness of the consequences of sexual activity into the young......

I also believe that there is no reason for any teenager to be having a sexual relationship.....
