Ignorant does not mean rude!!

I hate it when if someone does something mean to another person, they say "that person is ingnorant." No...they are rude.

How is my use of the word irony incorrect?

Perfect example, someone said I was ignorant because I would not let them smoke in my house. That's incorrect.
