I want to go as Charles Nelson Reilly from "Match Game." Both my parents tell me that no one will know who I am, even if I do have a name card hung around my neck....or a fake cigar and gigantic fake glasses.
Should I do what I want or should I just consider wearing my orange "This is my costume" t-shirt again this year?

I'm not going trick-or-treating; I'm too old....I'm just gonna be handing out candy if that matters. The kids won't know who I am but the parents probably will.

I LOVE the Match Game & I would definitely know who you were! Wear your costume - & even if nobody knows who you are it doesn't matter!
P.S. I would NOT wear the orange t-shirt! lol

Do what you want,
Have fun
have the name card hung around your neck,
a fake cigar and gigantic fake glasses
Why not, you can act grown up and not have fun in a few years.
For now enjoy youth

Do what you want. I really don't think many younger people will know who Charles Nelson Reilly was. However, who cares, Halloween is for fun. It is the people who don't know who are uninformed, not you.
Can I borrow the "this is my costume" t-shirt this year?

You can do whatever you want, but expect to spend half the night explaining your costume to everyone.
Me? I'd recommend wearing a goatee and being "The Evil chrstnwrtr" -- you know, like on "Star Trek", when they wanted to turn Spock into the Evil Spock and all they'd do is whip a goatee on him? I think David Hasslehoff did the same thing when playing his evil twin on "Knight Rider".....and you could TELL he really was the evil twin because he couldn't act, either!

If you put the tag on, ALL the parents will know who you are!
For those too young,, theres the Game Show Channel which I'm sure planty of kids watch.
Good idea for a costume,, just be sure to practice his silly laugh. lol

Lots of old celebs and famous folk had cigars and big glasses, so even if no-one thinks you're CN Reilly, they'll atleast mistake you for someone else eg Churchill.
So go for it, it might be fun.

I agree with your parents - no one will know who CNR is - - but I hate the orange T-Shirt idea. I bet you can find something more creative and fun if you put your mind to it now.
