Apparently they rent handbags. Because I am a not-so-rich handbag enthusiasts, I think this idea is awesome but it never hurts to do a little shopping research before hand.

I can not find any consumer reports on it. Sorry.

*edit*
I just checked the site out and it seems pretty stupid. Why throw down $190 to rent a LV bag?? Or $80 for a lesser known designer bag? I'm all for cute pocketbooks.. but to throw down that much $$ for a RENTAL??

Oh, they are ligit alright but it will cost you. They are not renting inexpensive bags. What they do, is provide you with the so called 'must haves' in the $thousands range so you can pretend to live like the "Joneses". Why would you want to rent a bag for a day or two for $500 upwards?

Try ShopNBC, they have some great bags that upstage Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Hermes, etc. etc. for a fraction of the cost. You can find bags that retail for upwards of $800 for under $200 and you have 3 to 4 months to pay for them. Who cares if you are not carrying an expensive designer bag. If it well made and classic it will look like a million.

I have at least 8 Chanel and 5 Hermes bags but I know a good thing when I see it. I bought 2 bags from NBC from their shows and I have a very rich friend who only wears Chanel, Hermes and Judith Leiber (she has 100's) and she borrowed my bags because they are so gorgeous and fabulously made of the best Italian leather. So there!

I think the first "handbag" rental company I heard of was Bag, Borrow, or Steal: http://www.bagborroworsteal.com
