OK, I will answer in the spirit of the question. I have been online and moderating forums in sites for women for about 10 years. It has been my experience that if men are allowed access to forums where women post that it is only a matter of time before someone will be so offensive and inappropriate that they have to be deleted and often tracked to the source of their posts and there ISP involved...

Now IF men are allowed and asked NOT to post where women are discussing health or sexual issues you may be sure that sooner rather than later trouble follows. Some people think that anyone posting anything remotely alluding to anything that may hint at sex(even periods) means that the poster REALLLLLLLY wants a date and guess who is nominated?

Most women would rather NOT even risk that sort of harrassment...and if there are younger women posting(or someone thinks it is younger women) WATCH OUT... then it really gets ugly fast. Frankly, I have never posted this long anywhere there were men posting. You would be amazed what some go thru to post where they are not wanted and trust me the more trouble it is the more ignorant they are...

I believe it's a comfort thing. Women, as well as men, will speak more freely and honestly with their own gender, partially because there is no need to explain alot of the feelings we're experiencing so that they will understand. It's kind of like someone who's lost a spouse or being a recovering alcoholic. The people they're with have been through it and already have a clear understanding of where that person is coming from.

Many men have very intelligent opinions, insight and answers, but they've never had breasts, periods, estrogen, PMS, abortions, etc. Men, don't take offense. We've never had premature ejaculations. Imagine coming to me to help you with that?

Because sometimes you just want a girly opinion - it's the sisterhood thing, the collective feminine unconscious. And the fact that., chances are, another lass'll have a much better idea on what you're on about if you want a girly answer to a girly question!

I mean, do YOU have cellulite issues?

because a lot of women feel that we need to have these perfect bodies, whether it be jennifer anniston, or other TV superstars that men drool over. and when we don't have that flawless figure we get shy about showing it off. I know i am FAR from being heavy or overweight, even still I get self conscious about myself if i haven't worked out in 4 days or haven't been to the gym at least 4 days out of the week. society has put such a strain on the female body and made us feel we have to step up to these expectations. If you look at family tv shows..most of the "wives" are nice looking, cute little figures and such...but you look at the husbands and they are NOTHING of the sort.

I'm not sure which questions, exactly, that you're referring to. I don't think it's a matter of being embarrassed or shy. I don't know any men that have been pregnant, given birth or had a period. It's only logical that women would want to talk to other women about that sort of thing since they've experienced it first hand.

because unless you've had a period, had a baby, had breast cancer, PCOS, menopause, miscarriage or any other women's health issue you're not qualified to know what it's like! I would want some one who'd been thru the experience to answer, and men haven't gone thru any of the above mentioned things...we're not embarassed, we just crave the bond with others of our gender. Sorry Charlie.

Because most men are very judgemental about womans bodies and they only care about how they look. Having a woman answer personal questions is better because they are more likely to know the answer.

I am a guy but i think it is a society deal where all you see on tv are drop dead gorgeous models in men and woman, and that image is protrayed for years into our brains to be like them ..but then we grow up and think that we dont look like what the average person looks like because we judge ourself on hand picked superficial idols
