even though arrogance is supposed to be good can it be bad also

I never thought arrogance was good. I've always thought it was really bad. Yes, I believe it is a serious weak point. Are you sure you aren't thinking of assertiveness?

yes. Arrogance is defined in the dictionary as "a feeling or an impression of superiority manifested in an overbearing manner or presumptuous claims". Doesn't sound like something that is supposed to be good, does it? Maybe for Donald Trump or someone, it might work, but generally, not so good.

Of course arrogance is bad, there is nothing wrong with confidence in yourself but being arrogant just makes you look like a jerk.

arrogance is typically used in a negative fashion. it is commonly confused w/ confidence; egotism is also confused, but something negative.
arrogance implies feeling as if u are BETTER, more Superior, to someone else.
confidence implies understanding your worth, and not settling for less. you can be confident and humble at the same time... u cannot be arrogant and humble at the same time.

according to m-w.com, arrogance is "an attitude of superiority manifested in an overbearing manner or in presumptuous claims or assumptions." so generally arrogance is construed as a poor quality, just as it is if someone is egotistic or presumptuous. it's closely related to pride, and that's usually a good thing to have, as long as you don't take part in the narcissism of arrogance.
