I'm not sure it would be safe to put them into the garbage. Could they possibly start a fire?

You can always put them in a coffee can, set it on the ground, and light them on fire. When they have finished burning, soak the ashes with water and put in the garbage can.

Good luck with your disposal problem.

We use wooden matches to light candles often. We always wet them in the sink first, then toss in garbage. Play it safe...

Unless they're strike anywhere matches they'll be fine. If you're really worried though soak them in water for a while first.

Yes, they could spark a fire. Try soaking them in water a few minutes first.

Either strike them and burn them or soak them in water for 24 hours. Then put them in the trash.
