My theory is that when people use incorrect grammar, it has more to do with laziness than ignorance. Sure, little kids don't know better than to say, "Can her play with me," but I have a feeling at least half of the people who continue to speak in that matter know better, they just have a lazy tongue. Also, for some reason it's cool to sound ignorant. Unfortunately though, a good number of people don't know their subjects have to match their verbs, which is indicative of a poor education system. This means that the problem is a mite bit bigger than a simple word misuse.

I understand what they recommend and how they use it. I question is that often the reason to lead them to stumble, i don't think of so. it is used as an excuse each and every each and every now and then to avert questions or being held greater in charge. human beings say many have ids who could desire to sound the comparable as yet another and are not. Many could sound the comparable in the event that they share specific standards and concepts, many JW can sound the comparable on account that they share the comparable concepts consistent with danger they have not heard that throughout the time of spite of the shown fact that this is real. One could seek for greater beneficial than only that. or perhaps ask. i've got not see the two considered one of you adequate to assert one way or yet another. some are paranoids and could push their paranoid concepts on others, could desire to be some thing greater personable happening there. i might look into that as a threat.

I usually use words incorrectly when I am relaxed. To me, improper english just comes naturally. When I am speaking in a formal atmosphere or around others that may be apt to use proper english, I speak better.

Spoken English is different than written English. When ppl speak they use what ever dialect that they have been exposed to, except in some cases as in a professional setting they will speak "proper English" Now when it comes to those professional settings and someone uses the wrong tense or word it is embarrassing and your saying to yourself do they know what s/he just said. Its education mainly or the lack of one.

I don't know how can this be so surprising and (obviously) annoying to you? English language is not the only language in the world and not only english talking people visit this site. So please have a little bit more understanding and forgive us for giving you such a trouble.

Most people who say things incorrectly do not realize they are doing it. It is not usually a conscious effort to look ignorant so they can blend in with other people who don't know better.

often, people just learn it the way their parents did.

My mom was an English teacher so I learned it correctly mostly. I say different from, instead of different than, etc.. I get teased for it mostly. I sometimes try to mess it up a bit so that I will get along better with people.

ahh the english language. so ambiguous!!

actually there are ao many dialects of english, and ppl tend to speak the way they were taught by their parents and family and the general enviroment around them. like for example New Yorkers speak differently from Southerners. ne ways where i live its post colonial and we have creole english. there is also patoa - which is the mix of english and french used frequently in the caribbean.

one thing is that although i was taught standard english i never judge ppl that speak differently. it may sound raw but its what makes us unique. i can identify u by the way u speak.

Don't judge!!!

I cannot imagine that anyone would think it was correct, but then again, I cannot imagine anyone voluntarily speaking that way either. I am tempted to ask people if they actually think the rest of us are wrong.

This is as bad as "I seen that yesterday." That one makes my skin crawl.

I think that it has become fashionable to be stupid and try to copy "ebonics". It really is a shame that if you use proper English, some moron will call you "grammer freak" and not even spell grammar correctly.
