I'll never forget history lessons and the knowledge that Queen Victoria reigned as Queen of England for 63+ years.

Is she the longest reigning monarch ever, or has there been another monarch who has been on the throne for a longer time period?

The longest reigning monarch in history was Pepi II, who ruled Egypt for 94 years.

The second longest was Louis XIV, who ruled France for 72 years.

Note to Kutekymmee: Sobhuza II didn't start his reign until he was 22. His father died when he was a few months old, but his Grandmother acted as regent for from 1899 to 1921.

Sobhuza II of Swaziland, who ruled from 1899 to 1982. His father died when he was only a few months old, leaving him as the ruler.
