When I went to apply for a mortgage last week I was told that are classed as a smoker for one year after you quit as that is how long it takes for your system to become completely nicotine free. I stopped smoking 7 months ago but am still technically a smoker because if they test me, it will still show up on tests.

I gave up smoking 4 years ago and the first two weeks were the worst but I was very careful not to mix with smokers in that time. It takes a lot of will power and support but after the two weeks it got easier. I think I read some where that it takes about 1 year to be completely free of nicotine.
