I think Katie is a positive role model for women.....she is not just another woman showing off her T & A, like most of the women seen on TV....and anchoring a news program is NOT a man's job.....No job is a man's job anymore, and if we had a female president, we might not be in deep you-know-what.

It is in fact because she is the first SOLO female anchor in history. Every other female anchor has been accompanied by a male anchor--this will be the first time in the history of TV that a news program is anchored soly by a female with no males anywhere. that is what the big fuss is all about.

Yes, she's the first solo female anchor.
Also, she's eye candy with little gravitas, so I think people are expecting her to fail.

that she is blonde female, and you know how retarded men are, just dye your hair blonde ,put on make up and dress up, and you will be severely underestimated and free to wreak havoc in their lives unsupervised cause they think your iq drops with hair color and make up application, this is part of the reason they lament they will never understand us and why they blame the female friends for putting ideas in their heads, while they are really sleeping with the biggest predator of the female group.

Of course ! She is going to rock the males domain. I can't stand listening to her-she speaks in a monotone. When it was found out that her picture was digitally altered to show her as much thinner, I knew it then. I had not planned on watching.
