I love poems. I read them I write them. They are great, and a great way to express yourself.

most of the time i create angry poems to let frustration out and yes, i do read them aloud to see if the rhythm sounds how i'm saying it in my head. or sometimes i make it into a song and at times words sound worse when they're actually spoken, so i may exchange it with another.

I have a book of poetry that is just for "reading aloud"....sort of a "best-of" poems to be read aloud. I think they sound better and make more sense if they are spoken.

I pull verses from poems when I'm talking to my friends. I don't read them out when I'm alone though.

I certainly do - in class (I'm an English teacher) and out of it.
Poetry is meant to be read aloud. much lyrical poetry used to be sung, accompanied by a lyre (hence the name), and epic poetry (e.g. "The Iliad") was passed down through oral tradition by singers.
