They asked me to come in for a second interview for Tuesday (today). But they asked me on Friday via my work e-mail. I was on vacation Friday and half of today, so I missed the deadline. I informed them of what happened but it might look irresponsible, being that I didn't set an "out of office" auto reply telling them I was on vacation. Do you think I blew my chances?

If they are seriously considering you then they would need to consider everyone's different schedules with the holiday included. At this point it is a wait and see.... I believe this will tell you what kind of character they have.
Best of luck

You're alright...but stupid of them to email you something so important not only on a friday, to your WORK address, but on a 3 day HOLIDAY weekend.

No your fine...I have hired and fired people and this would not set me off of you if I knew what happened. It would not get a second thought.

They should figure Labor Day weekend would be a tough call. I think you're OK.

You should be fine. But you should never use your work email to find another job. That email is not private.

As long as you called and appologized with a short explanation, it should be fine.

No, it was a holiday weekend. They should have called you, not emailed you. You're fine.

No....... they didn't give you much notice and they sent you an e-mail. It would be different if they called you and you didn't make it.
