I haven't really played guitar for about 18 months. I know a few chords, but have always had trouble playing barre chords.
I would like to learn tab and recover things from the basics up in the hope I will improve greatly my playing. How can I make my practice sessions effective and worthwhile, at a beginners level to intermediate?

Yeah, it incredibly is like me. The day when I have been given a guitar, I revealed out the tab for they say by Scars on Broadway (i prefer to propose it, that's extraordinarily undemanding) and started taking part in. of course I discovered issues alongside the way, yet I merely started taking part in songs. good success.

Metallica Fade to Black or One.
They are easy and then you can play chords start all dramatic. I learned tab by learning Dee by Randy Rhodes (Black Sabbath) it is really hard. I kept playing and magically bar chords are becoming easier. I like to switch from electric to acoustic. That way I can play both. Finger picking the chords to Dylan songs sound good also and boost confidence.Basic G. D A stuff.

Smoke on the water is the mother of all riffs and it's really easy.
Smells like teen spirit, Back in Black, Iron man, Kashmir are pretty easy tabs.
Other insanely easy tabs are Seven nation army, About a girl and Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.

Depends on what you like really.. my favorite tab for simplicity is AC/DC. But no matter how eas it is if you dont like the music you wont put much effort into it. find a song you really like and get to work.
