Yes, stress can break down the immune system and your lymph nodes can get swollen, infected or simply filled with fluids and that can create lumps - under your chin, arms, in the groin area and other places as well.

If you aren't sure then have a check-up. If the lumps don't hurt then it may be infected lymph glands or small cysts which aren't harmful and can easily be removed.

It sounds typical of a sebaceous cyst. This is a cyst of the gland attached to the hair follicle that produces the oil for our hair, sebum. Men typically get these at the back of the neck for some reason. As a student nurse I saw one removed from a gentleman's neck in day surgery. Only local anaesthetic was required and he was sitting up as the procedure was done. The Doctor just split the skin on top of the lump with a scalpel and this egg shaped white lump popped out. It was the size of a small egg say a robins egg. I had the impression that it was hard though it might have been spongy. I don't know why sebaceous cysts happen. Stress can cause a multitude of symptoms and some very serious illnesses. Per-longed stress can disrupt the circulation and so cause disruption to our immune system making people vulnerable to all kinds of illnesses.

Stress can do weird things to your body. But if you have found lumps you should go straight to your doctor and have them checked out immediately.

Stress can (and will) cause alot of different things to happen to your body.

I have never personally heard of lumps appearing on the body from stress though. My suggestion would be to please consult your Doctor concerning them.

Good Luck.....Have a lovely rest of the day.
