To reach level 2 you must have 250 total points. If you drop below that you will again be on level one. You may answer and vote on 20 questions a day giving you 2 points and 1 point respectively. Once you reach level 2 you will be able to rate others with a thumbs up or down but you will receive no points for that. You will get nothing but your own satisfaction for reaching the next level and helping others in the process.

If you aware about the poins system imposed by yahoo answers you may realize how to utilize or steps to do in getting a higher point. Its kinda tedious coz you need to answers questions to the best as you can so that asker may recognized your answer as best. So provide an informative answers so that you may earn ten points and thats the highest point you can get after the first ever question you've asked.
second you need to choose best answer among answers you got or you need to pick best answer from your previous questions. And you may vote as good answers for others from other's questions. And most advisable of all is to answer most questions.

You move up by scoring points. In order to score points you need to:-
*Answer more questions than you ask. Make your answer the best and you get more points and move up quicker.
*Vote on the answers to the questions that other people have asked
*Vote for a best answer in any questions that you do ask

answer questions, making questions loses you 5pts you start off with 101 and u get to lvl2 at 250pts.
