Don't get high off anything, don't try drinking or drugs. You think you'll be accepted but those who push it on you are losers, and you'll be one too.
Keep track of all your handouts and tests. They can do wonders for review, I promise you, the things you see on tests and quizzes now will be on your midterms.
Don't mouth off to your teachers or be obnoxious, word will spread between teachers, and they WILL hold it against you for the rest of your Highschool life. Don't give people reason to judge you. Don't pretend to know alot if you don't, for the same reason.
Keep TV and game and computer time to a minimum, it really does make you lose IQ points.
Get active in clubs, but make sure you can pull through to the end when you join, otherwise, just try again next year.
It's NEVER too early to think about college. Every choice you make in deciding your classes is crucial. If you choose a slacker class that you think will be easy, the college you apply for will notice. No one wants a slacker. There are some classes that will help you more than others. Career Mentorship prepares you for life and I recommend taking it next year. Several years in a language is also valued highly by colleges and universities.
Find a good study place, it's even better to study with a friend, but make sure you stay on topic.
Always turn your assignments in on time. It WILL affect your grade and when teachers tell you what they are strict on, make sure you take note of this. If tests or homework is what they focus on, you should take them seriously.
I know this sounds like a lot of work and you're sucking up but it's really not. These are things you need to know and as long as you follow this, I gueruntee you will have twice as much fun. Enjoy highschool. I swear, middleschool was tough, Highschool is a breeze. Everyone is nicer and people accept one another more than in middleschool. It's when you really start showing your own style rather than your parent's or your friend's. Lastly, don't sell yourself short. If you think you would do well in an honors class but your friends are still all in C level, go ahead and choose honors. Life is all about choices, make the right ones.

Okay, I do have a few words.
What you do now will influence how you spend the rest of your life. Remember that when older kids try to get you to do things you know are wrong.
Study and learn all you can. It's hard to get a good job without a college degree or some kind of specialized training, so the good grades will help you with that.
Don't forget to enjoy yourself: High School is too soon to burn out.
