I just bought a Samsung (Synchmaster 225W) HD 22 inch widescreen $400 from Fry's Electronics - it's AWESOME.

I upgraded from a 5 (?)year old no-name LCD, the first I'd ever bought.

Trouble is, playing Doom 3 on the new monitor, my PC keeps overheating with the higher resolution setting.

But it sure beats getting a new HD TV.

What ever the size of the max flat screen tv is in production at the time. 99% of all computers now & tvs are rigged to work together so "monitors" are a blast from the past. I am currently typing on a 55 inch (LOL pretty sick & overkill huh?).

A 23inches Sony lcd sdm-p234. Cost is a bit high. You can also give samsung monitors a try. You can also try sony HD Panels with pc input. Upto 40 inches and quality is better than any other monitor.
