Why does he do this if he doesn't want to be with me and my two young sons? They've regarded him as daddy for their entire comprehensive life. Why would he come around after turning around and walking away if he doesn't still love me our family in some way? What's funny is, he tells the whole truth when he's celebrating the week on Saturdays with a few beers. . .He calls then, most weekends, "just to talk". He says he can't se eus together, but, calls and says he misses me.
Why would a man do this?

He still loves you. Must have a problem committing. Obviously a drinker, so not much of a prize.
I suggest getting call block and having a good night's sleep.
If he is serious, make him come to you sober.

Question for you: why do you answer the phone at 2:30 a.m? Let it ring and do NOT answer - turn off the ringer if you have to. He's drunk when he calls and is remembering the good times and forgetting the bad hoping you will take him back, but is too proud to come out and say it directly. Answering the phone at 2:30 a.m. only encourages him to do it some more, so STOP!!!

Quit answering his calls. Especially if he is drinking and dialing. It is obviously hurting you and that hurts your kids. Maybe you can have a friendship some time in the future, but it is probably still too raw right now. He does it because he is confused and he is male. He wants to keep you in a constant state of turmoil so that he can jump back in there if he wants to.

Here is the problem with most men, they want out, but then they are not getting any, they find out that they just can't make it in the dating game, bar scene, so they still need you but not for a commitment, rather just for a night!

DON"T PICK UP THE PHONE AT 3AM.
Unless of course you enjoy drama in your life and relate yourself in this life to crisis after crisis.
You have two choices, get over it and move on, or whine and send emails and talk to friends on how you "know" he still loves you, but he's just scared to show it.
