Yes they can. We had a new IT guy hired at work. His boss bragged about how secure our system was. The new guy said, "oh yeah?" and within 60 seconds had found and displayed everybody's password on the screen. Needless to say, his boss' jaw dropped like a rock.

Yes it is possible... One way is if you have it set to remember your password at login. Another way is a program that copies your keystrokes as you type. The work around is to create accounts on the shared computer. You will have to be the admin & do a fresh install if you are not real good with computers (if the program is already in place it will remain there). You can limit what a user can do/install as an Admin of a windows pc (go to the help section)

The simple answer is no. A password is required to access your e-mail account, that being said, there are many different ways for people to obtain your password (many already mentioned in response to your question).
One thing nobody has pointed out yet is that most web e-mail accounts like hotmail and yahoo keep internet cache that in many cases can include entire e-mails. While the person may not have direct access to your account, they may have the ability to read this internet cache from your user profile on the computer. If you suspect that someone is trying to read your personal information, I would recommend setting your browser to not remember cache, and to delete all existing cache, including off-line content. Also if this is a work computer, report this as abuse right away to your IT security office. You might even invest in a cleaning program like window washer or cyberscrub!
Good luck!

yes i did it, when my cousins came over i installed a keylogger, which tracked the keystrokes pressed. It had a function to hide it with a shortcut. Most virus scanners are able to detect key loggers. Avast is a free anti-virus program. go download it if you need to.
It could also be your forget you password secret question. If you are sharing the pc then maybe the other person knows the answer.
Keep autocomplete turned off and cookies turned off for safety.

Yes if you offer your browser to save your password, else no.
Do you type your password everytime or does it automatically fill them in for you?
There are hardware keyloggers people can buy now that connects between the keyboard and the pc, it intercepts and records all keystrokes, check the keyboard connection to the pc is connecting directly and not through some extra connector.

Yup, it is possible.
Don't keep typing your passwords, as remote systems can detect which keys you are pressing. Thus being able to replicate passwords.
Get your machine to remember passwords, keep them and your machine to itself, and all should be well
