I can't believe this. I just moved into an apartment last week. When cleaning the kitchen, I noticed a bunch of dead roaches (maybe 20-30) in the back of the cabinet under the sink. They appeared to be pretty old, totally dessicated. I called maintenance, the guy came out, he said that when he moved in (4 yrs ago) he had the same thing, dead roaches. He said the new owner has really cleaned up the place, and he has never had any problems with roaches after that initial finding in his apartment. He said that they haven't had any other tenants complain either. So maintenance says - yes, there apparently used to be roaches here, but they're long gone. He also said that no one has lived in my apartment for at least 2 years. I set out traps 4 days ago, haven't caught anything, and after cleaning the kitchen thoroughly, no new evidence of roaches, dead or alive. I just can't stop worrying about this. Anyone have some input here?? Thanks!!!

Just keep a look out for them in the future. Just because you don't see any now doesn't mean there will not be any in the future. Do you realize, even with keeping things clean and prefessionals spraying, you just can't get rid of roaches? You really have to be careful when you bring your groceries into your apartment because roaches live in food while in a warehouse, even before shipping to the grocery store. I would just be extremely careful from now on and you have every right to worry.

I'd still buy a quart of Malathion, mix it up and spray everything. The odor lasts only 4-5 hours unlike Raid. No roaches.
