The ones I would be willing to give up without a fight are.... thinking.... ummmm.... thinking.... cough.... thinking... ummmm

NONE

If we give up any of our liberties, terrorism has won. Isn't that what terrorism really is - to terrorize ppl into giving up their way of life or freedoms through fear.

What Liberties have been taken from You ?? Are you against the airlines searching your bags or your person...? Bit of a stretch of the IV Amendment isn't it ? Not only are you being searched without a warrant some of your belongings are being confiscated..ie contact lens cleaner, toothpaste...Etc..
All Americans should be tolerant when it comes to the war on terror.. There are some issues we will have to bend on..Give up our rights..?? No , not long term. But if being put out saves American lives and the American way, then yes,I am willing to wave some rights until we get a hand on this.

Privacy on the phone.... banking. I'd be willing to be profiled and in fact kind of am. (My name is Mark Smith, on a watch list). I understand it is hard to give up liberties earned, but I'd be willing to give up those things to make sure it is safe for others and plus I have nothing to hide. War and terror were not fought the same way generations ago. Not only that but technology is far ahead of what the law states. I don't believe it means that policy then goes to loose definition. It means politicians have to catch up and come to an agreement on videos, wiretapping, CDs, DVDs, ect... It took three decades before laws came into effect on phones! I think certian liberties have to be given up to fight terror now so we can get a handle on such things. Later, hopefully our laws will catch up and dictate proper procedure.

Which ones will I personally volunteer to forgo, or which ones will I tolerate the government taking from me without my consent?

Because the answers to those questions are completely different.

~~~~~~~
I do not tolerate, and actively speak out against, violations of our constitutional protections and the freedoms guaranteed. Including the rights of all accused to a fair trial, access to counsel, no guilt by association, and requirements of due process for everyone.
Personally, I am willing to waive (temporarily not exercise, as opposed to permanently surrender) certain rights for myself depending on the situation. Such as being willing to not speak out if what I would say would cause actual harm to other people, to forgo just compensation for property taken in an emergency to benefit others, to allow by consent some searches when needed, to quarter troops in my home if necessary, to not assemble publicly when such assembly would be dangerous or provoke violence, and so on. It all depends on the situation.
Supercomputers monitoring billions of bank transactions going through foreign clearing houses where large sums of money are being transferred to/from known terrorist countries.
Same computers monitoring email and phone messages to/from known terrorist countries and searching for keywords like "attack" "nerve agent" and "United out of Boston"
In essence, I'm not having to give up anything.
None. But does my unwillingness to "give up" protect them? Nah. Sick twisted times we are living in.
