Don't sugar coat it. Just explain that it has come time for you to try new and different things and that you are giving your two weeks notice. Be sure to give two weeks, it can come back on you in the future. Try to be polite and try not to offend, it could help with your job reference.Good luck.

No need to sugar coat or explain. Just write a simple, professional letter of resignation giving two weeks notice.

By giving 2-week written notice (which does not require that you give a reason or sugar coating); then leave with dignity and don't burn your bridges.

Give a two week written notice that you're leaving. You can put down that you're going to school; taking a leave of absence to determine what your next action/job will be; you really don't have to say what you're doing next. Just don't burn any bridges, thus the 2 week notice.

By just telling your boss ahead of time that you're going to soon leave for somewhere else. Then you try to reason it out with your boss. I would do that, only if I was employed though!
