I guess from the kitchen!

In a manner of speaking yes. I think they would probably say they need liberating from the control of men. If they have to be in the kitchen to have dinner ready when the man comes home they might feel they're being oppressed by the man. But I don't how many families operate like this any more. That concept and the idea that women are totally oppressed by men is a bit outdated.

As a man who's served lovingly as househusband for the last year, I can tell you you have it wrong. The kitchen can be a great place to be; especially if you like cooking, and you can get the kid to do the dishes!

Women need liberation from the constricting notions of what they should be allowed to do with their lives, and they need liberation from some of the built in inequities of a system that men dictate terms in. They need liberation from make-up and silly clothes and the idea that they have to be dumb to get along.

Men need liberation too. From three piece suits, and the need to act macho, and from thinking that they can't enjoy anything but sports and cars. And the idea that they have to be dumb to get along.

Even the people who we think of as ruling us all --the rich, the powerful, need liberation from their own self induced agrandisement. And the idea that they have to be arrogant because they're rich.

Liberation: We could all use a little of that good stuff.

Women are still not quite equals in parts of society. In the workforce, it's harder for women to get high-ranking jobs. Women are underrepresented in many fields. And here I'm completely ignoring the plight of women in developing countries.

And, sure, liberation from the kitchen too, in a sense. Why shouldn't guys help out with cooking?

I don't think of myself as an ultra-feminist, but I do think women throughout the world should be free to express themselves and live their life the way they see fit, not the way men (or society) tells them to.

There is no real "Womens' Liberation" movement in today's world.
Most modern 21st Century chicks have lost sight of the vision and respect for the struggle their sisters have had to fight for in the past 100 years.

Whatever YOU are experiencing isn't "Womens' Liberation".
Since you have not offered much information, I can't give you much of an answer.

My best guess to YOUR problem is that it might be you are getting an attitude from chicks...and that could be based on your way of treating them.

Does it bother you? Have you thought how you are going to handle the liberated women? Do some reading on why they need liberation. Liberation is not about giving up certain things, liberation is about being able to express one's self, being treated as individuals with respect. Do you know women are subjugated often by men? Can you handle a woman who stands up for her self?

They need liberating from their own focked up idealism. A woman's place is in the home, dammit, unless she's single, in which case she's too undesirable to have a family.
